STAINLESS STEEL: BOTTLES, TINS AND CONTAINERS – UNPAINTED

All uncoated and non-insulated stainless steel bottles, cans, lids and containers can be rinsed in the dishwasher. An exception are the stainless steel lids from Onyx and Life without Plastic and the stainless steel wide lids from Klean Kanteen, as the seal is not suitable for the temperatures in the dishwasher.

For thorough cleaning you can use warm water, some dishwashing liquid and a bottle brush. But even a very old-fashioned cleaner can be used: diluted vinegar or water with soda. For daily cleaning, it is sufficient to rinse the bottle with warm water and a little washing-up liquid and then let it dry with the opening down.

Regular water bottles and lunch boxes are not suitable for microwave, oven or stove. Non-insulated drinking bottles can be heated above a fire.

STAINLESS STEEL: BOTTLES, TINS AND CONTAINERS - PAINTED

Painted stainless steel products should not be rinsed in the dishwasher. The heat damages the environmentally friendly, harmless to health and sensitive paints. Follow the care instructions in the upper section.

They are also not suitable for microwave, oven or stove.

STAINLESS STEEL: BOTTLES AND CANS - INSULATED

Insulated bottles and cans should not be rinsed in the dishwasher, as the heat generated in the dishwasher puts heavy strain on the welding of the two stainless steel walls and allows the vacuum to escape. They are also not suitable for microwave, oven or stove.

Under no circumstances should you place insulated stainless steel bottles in the dishwasher as the metal expands and contracts in the dishwasher during the rinsing and drying cycle, thus losing the insulating vacuum. The insulated bottles and cans then lose their insulating effect.

In order to increase the insulating effect of the cans, it is important to first fill the cans with hot water just before use so that the stainless steel can warm up. Otherwise, the filled material is quenched when it touches the cold surface and cools down faster.

The insulated cans should not be closed immediately after filling, but need to remain open for some seconds so that no negative pressure can form. If the can still does not unscrew (which is very rare), then there is a little trick:

• Boil so much water in a saucepan that the lid is completely covered.

• Place the can with the lid down in the boiling water and leave it in the boiling water for about 45 seconds.

• Carefully remove the can and keep it away from the body and open, if necessary repeat the process.

GLASS: CONTAINERS AND BOTTLES

Glass products can be easily rinsed in the dishwasher and almost all containers made of glass are also suitable for freezing and for use in the oven or microwave. Exact information must be taken from the item description of the individual products.

ENAMEL: CONTAINER AND COOKWARE

Enameled containers and cookware are very sturdy. They are ovenproof and can be heated on the stove. They have a magnetizable core and are thus perfectly suitable for induction. These containers and the cookware can also be used on an electric or gas stove, a ceramic hob or the open fire.

In principle, enamel products can also be rinsed in the dishwasher (if possible, a glass program); by rinsing by hand, the enamel gloss is retained. Soft sponges and brushes with dish soap or soft scouring cream are to be preferred. Wire brushes, steel wool or sand-based abrasives should not be used. However, the products can be used without hesitation despite scratch marks of wrong cleaning agents.

PLASTIC AND SILICONE: LIDS / SEALS AND CAPS FOR BOTTLES, TINS AND MUGS

Plastic lids of bottles, cans and most other containers can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. Basically, soft plastics such as PE (e.g., Arzberg, Trendglas) should be rinsed by hand for a long life.

WOOD: CONTAINERS, BOWLS, PLATES, CUTLERY AND MUGS

Products made of wood may only be rinsed in warm water, must not be allowed to soak in water and should be dried off as quickly as possible or not be set up too wet to dry. They are also not suitable for microwave, oven or stove.

BAMBOO AND BAMBOO FIBER: CONTAINERS, BOWLS, PLATES, CUTLERY AND MUGS

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. It does not have to be replanted, it grows without fertilizers and pesticides, and yet it can be harvested every three to five years.

The products of the Biobu series have a durable waterproof surface that is suitable for hot and cold dishes. Products from Biobu are suitable for use in the dishwasher.

Pure bamboo crockery may only be rinsed in warm water, must not soak in water and should be dried off as quickly as possible or not be set up too wet to dry.

Bamboo dishes of any kind are also not suitable for microwave, oven or stove.

LEAK PROOF / CARBONIC ACID IN DRINKING BOTTLES AND CANS

Bottles can only be guaranteed leak-proof with a tightly closing screw cap, but there are limitations when using carbonated drinks. The bottoms of the bottles are not extra reinforced and therefore the non-escaping pressure can squeeze the bottom of the bottle or liquid can be forced through the bottle thread. Experience has shown that not too strongly carbonated drinks (without warranty) can be filled. If the floor has been expressed, it can be pressed inwards gently with a laid-up board.

The Growler by Klean Kanteen and MiiR, however, are designed to be easily filled with carbonated and fermented drinks without damage.

If you want to use bubbly drinks, you should use a sport cap with air valve, because the pressure can escape here via the air valve and the cap; however, the bottle is no longer leak proof. For still drinks, the Klean Kanteen sports drink closure is almost leak-proof. The bottle should be transported upright to be sure.

The Café Cap 2.0 by Klean Kanteen (wide bottle) and the Rosendahl insulated cup are also leak-proof for non-carbonated drinks.

Regular lunchboxes are not leak-proof, except the life without plastic lunchbox and the round tin with subdivisions by life without plastic and onyx. All threaded cans for screwing are leak-proof.

Household cans (stainless steel cans with clip closures, cans with seals, glass cans with flexible plastic lids, etc.) are leak-proof. Exact information must be taken from the item description of the individual products.

Instructions for use for herbal pillows

Herbal pillows should not be heated with the belt in the microwave, but heated alone. 15 to 20 seconds are enough!

To check the temperature and prevent it from burning, put the bag in the case / belt and test the heat under your arm. It must be absolutely certain that the belt is not too hot when you place it on the baby's stomach. Babies are very sensitive; the pillow should not be hot!

If the herbal pillow is still slightly warm and you want to heat it up again, then heat at 5-second intervals and check the temperature.

Never leave the pillow in the microwave for longer or unattended, as it is flammable! Incidentally, this also applies to spelled or cherry stone cushions. Never place the herbal pillow on the metal top in the microwave, only on the rotating glass plate.

When you put the herbal pillow in your belt and want to put it on the baby's stomach, ensure that plastic, metal, buttons or zips or the like are not under the pillow, as they heat up disproportionately and can hurt the child.
